Success Stories

With more than two decades of public leadership, education, negotiation, and community engagement experience, Jeremy helps organizations navigate complexity with confidence, integrity, and practical results.

The Union Hotel/
Courthouse Square

Revitalizing Main Street

For years, the vacant Union Hotel stood as a symbol of downtown Flemington’s redevelopment gridlock, stalled by conflicting demands over historic preservation, zoning, and public trust.

Drawing on six years as a Borough Councilman, Jeremy bridged the gap between developers, municipal leaders, and various stakeholders. By ensuring the Borough’s priorities were protected while keeping planners and officials talking directly to one another, Jeremy helped move the project from stalemate to approval. The Union Hotel officially reopened in September of 2026 and is a clear result of what happens when the approval process is guided from the inside with balance and transparency.

The Flemington Lyceum Society

Community Engagement

In partnership with the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, Jeremy founded the Flemington Lyceum Society to revive genuine civic discourse. Rooted in the 19th-century Lyceum tradition, the monthly forum gives residents, local business owners, and municipal leaders a neutral space to discuss community issues outside formal public hearings. By building trust continuously rather than treating public input as a late-stage requirement, the Society demonstrates how clear communication turns potential opposition into shared momentum.

Liberty Village

Reimagining a Landmark

Once a major retail destination, Liberty Village sat underutilized and required a multi-year plan to guide its transformation. Serving concurrently on the Redevelopment Committee, Planning Board, and Borough Council, Jeremy provided end-to-end oversight from early strategy sessions to final voting. His cross-board perspective ensured the Borough’s infrastructure and housing priorities—including dedicated veterans' housing—were built directly into the site plan on the municipality’s terms.

Public-Private Partnerships

Mobilizing Community Support for Local Business

Public-private partnerships don't always require complex municipal contracts. As PR Chair for his local Education Association, Jeremy organized monthly "Cash Mobs," uniting teachers and school staff to drive immediate foot traffic and revenue to small downtown businesses. The initiative proved that community momentum relies on the same core principle as major development: bringing people together around a shared goal and turning goodwill into direct action.

From the Classroom to the Room Where it Happens

What a Teacher Understands

Managing a council chamber or planning board requires the exact same skill set as leading a classroom: active listening, translating complex ideas into plain language, and keeping a divided room moving toward a decision. Across two decades as a high school English teacher, Jeremy has mastered the art of balancing competing needs and guiding people toward mutual agreement. While most civic consultants know the regulations, far fewer know how to manage a room of people who don't trust each other yet and guide them across the finish line.
